Delivering an Effective Sales Presentation

Delivering an Effective Sales Presentation

When it comes to delivering an effective sales presentation there are a few things to keep in mind. While your speech is absolutely vital, the tools and method of your presentation are also very important.

Today, there are lots of tools available to help you deliver a presentation. You can easily create a PowerPoint presentation and turn it into a slide show. You can also hook up your tablet or laptop to a larger TV and broadcast your presentation. It is also possible to hold remote presentations via webinars or by using Google+ Hangouts.

If you want to become a successful sales person then you really want to adapt to all of these new technological advances. Your competitors will, so why not be one step ahead and start incorporating these strategies today?

Once you have decided upon your delivery method you can start crafting your presentation. You want to keep your presentation short, sweet, interesting and to the point. Do not include a ton of hype just to add more time to the presentation. A good rule of thumb is to aim to finish your presentation about five minutes early.

People enjoy hearing stories so if you can build your presentation around a story or theme then good for you. This will help to keep people entertained, and who doesn’t enjoy a story over a list of plain facts and figures?

In the same regard though, keep your stories relevant to your topic. Don’t go off and tell people about your last vacation if it has nothing in common with what you are trying to sell.

An easy way to grab your audience’s attention is by offering them a startling fact or revelation. This will make them sit up and pay attention and be immediately interested in what you have to say.

When quoting facts and figures be exact and don’t use approximate values. On your handouts you should quote the sources, so clients can check on these for themselves later on.

While it is a good idea to include graphics and images keep them simple and easy to view. A graphic with too much detail can be simply too difficult to read on a slide or viewed in small print on the handouts. Less is often better in this regard.

Use the above tips to help you draft an effective sales presentation and remember that practice makes perfect. The more presentations you make the more effective they will become.
